One half of the acclaimed techno duo Drunken Kong is stepping into a new artistic chapter with the launch of his solo alias D-SHIFT, a project dedicated to exploring the slower, deeper, and more melodic side of electronic music.
Known for high-impact techno crafted for peak-time floors, this new direction reveals a different dimension of his musical identity. D-SHIFT focuses on progressive grooves, emotive melodies, and a more introspective energy, marking a distinct evolution in his sound.
“A new direction, a new start,” he shared. “I’ve always been a big fan of progressive house, but I waited until the moment felt right. With so many changes happening in the scene, I felt it was finally time to explore deeper into my sound.”
The debut EP, “Future Heights,” lands on Tronic Music, a label that has long supported Drunken Kong’s journey. The release also features a stunning remix from Mariano Mellino, whose melodic sensibility adds an elegant contrast to the original. Grab it here!
With D-SHIFT, listeners can expect warm textures, rolling rhythms, and a strong focus on musical storytelling, a refreshing contrast to the duo’s signature techno power, yet still rooted in the same dedication to quality and emotional impact.
This new alias marks the beginning of an exciting chapter, expanding the Drunken Kong universe while opening the door to fresh creative possibilities.
