Closing out a huge year for Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave, the label turns to rising Argentine talent Beico for its latest release. Landing on December 12th, Existence is a two-track EP that leans into cinematic tension, emotional depth, and high-impact techno — a sound that reflects both Beico’s evolving artistic identity and the forward-thinking ethos of the WATB camp. We caught up with Beico to talk about the inspiration behind the release, his journey through global dance floors, and the influences shaping his powerful, atmospheric sound.
“Existence” feels both cinematic and powerful, what was the initial idea or emotion that sparked the track?
In this track, as is typical with my style, I wanted to create something cinematic yet powerful, with emotional depth that builds up and then explodes in the drop. I started by playing around with some piano chords, and that’s how this song came to life!”
How did releasing on Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave influence your creative approach, if at all?
Releasing on We Are The Brave has been an exciting experience because the label has such a strong identity and vision for techno. It definitely pushed me to refine my sound and focus more on creating high-impact, emotive tracks. Alan has been a huge inspiration since my early days in techno, and his support, along with the label’s ethos, has inspired me to experiment more while staying true to my core sound.”
The track has strong tension and scale. What elements do you focus on to create that kind of atmosphere in your productions?
I love cinematic music, so in some of the breaks, I usually add pads, brasses, and other elements that give the track a lot of power and emotion, creating that strong tension and scale.”
After the success of “Let There Be Dark,” how has your sound evolved to reach where you are today with “Existence”?
Before, I used to focus more on darker, more melodic tracks. Today, I’m concentrating more on the groove, while still keeping my style with melodies and, of course, ensuring the track has those exciting, emotional parts.”
Latin America’s techno scene has grown massively. What do you think defines its energy, and how does your background influence your music?
Here in Latin America, people are very passionate. They know a lot about DJs, research labels, the latest releases, and really become fans of an artist. Playing here is incredible and feels amazing. The scene is growing rapidly! You can see bigger and bigger festivals and parties in cities where there used to be nothing. In my city, Mar del Plata, I grew up listening to different musical styles, especially techno – it won my heart!”
You’ve toured across Europe, Australia, and the Americas. Has playing different cultures changed the way you produce or perform?
Yes, totally! Every trip inspires me, it changes my mindset, it renews me – it’s magical! I’ve had the chance to play in countries and places I never thought I’d visit, and it happened, so that’s very inspiring when it comes to creating music. After every tour, I’d always return to the studio (of course, after getting some good sleep, haha) and come up with great tracks!”
What drew you toward the darker, more atmospheric side of techno as your signature sound?
“I like many genres, but when it comes to creating, this type of techno with exciting melodies and explosive drops is what moves me the most. I think it’s about feeling what truly ignites your heart! So that’s what brought me here with this sound.”
What’s next for Beico after this release, any projects or milestones you’re excited about?
After this release, I’m focusing on new music, some exciting collaborations, and preparing for upcoming shows. I’m really looking forward to what’s next!
