Berlin techno titan Marcel Dettmann steps up with two stunning remixes for tracks from Gregor Tresher’s acclaimed 2023 album False Gods, originally released on PIAS. Known for his stripped-back, hypnotic sound, Dettmann reimagines the album’s title track as well as Ursa Minor—and the results are nothing short of captivating.
Gregor initially invited Dettmann to remix False Gods, and what came back was a brooding, atmospheric version steeped in tension and dark warehouse energy. As a bonus, Dettmann also delivered a second remix for Ursa Minor, originally a deep and melodic collaboration between Gregor and Petar Dundov. While the original blends house and techno sensibilities, Dettmann’s take pushes it firmly into Berlin basement territory—hypnotic, immersive, and tailored for late-night sessions.
The remixes serve as a perfect epilogue to False Gods, which featured collaborations with legends like Laurent Garnier, Sven Väth, Josh Wink, Black Asteroid, and Anja Schneider. With Dettmann’s unmistakable touch, these reworks are a must-listen for fans of modern, refined techno.
